“Inclusion’ is a video work about speculative near future. The narrative takes place in
abandoned landscapes, where modern myths develop. It is an imaginative transformation of the
world through fiction. The story is being told by an unknown observer, who travels through the
dystopian territory and discovers all the leftovers of settlements. The narrator questions why and
how these places became empty. Physical emptiness relates to the narrator’s inner emptiness.
Eventually the protagonist becomes absorbed into amber material and becomes an inclusion.
The story was partly inspired by Baltic mythology, which tries to explain the origin of amber. This
is a contemporary approach of myth making.
